25% of England A squad = LWGS students

Two ex students have been selected for the England A squad for the 2016/2017 season. Cheshire School student Josh McMahon has been selected following some strong results from the 2016 season, which included a 7th in the Brabazon Trophy, 4th in the Lee Westwood Trophy, 5th in the West of England amateur, and 19th in the English Mens Amateur Championship stroke play played at Ganton Golf Club.

Josh left the School in 2014 off a +2 handicap. Now at the age of 21 he is playing off a handicap of +3.6.

Josh joins ex Essex student Jack Yule who has also been selected for the England A squad. Jack won the Biarritz Cup in France representing England last year, and was runner up in the Italian international. He also played in the 2016 Home Internationals. Jack is currently playing off a +3 handicap.

As a school are very proud of their progress and wish them the best for the season ahead. What a thrill it must be to be involved with England Golf. It is great to see them on track in regards to chasing their dream of making a living on tour one day soon.
